Cheese Fondue


Ingredients:
  • 1 Large loaf French bread
  • 8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz. Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 2 t. flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp. coarse ground pepper
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • dash Tabasco
  • 1-12 oz. beer
Instructions:
  • Cut French bread into 1 inch cubes, toss with garlic salt and toast evenly in 350 degree oven. Set aside.
  • Put remaining ingredients into heavy, large-bottomed pan.
  • Heat slowly 'til cheese is melted being careful not to scorch.
  • When fully melted, pour into heated ceramic fondue pot.
To Serve:
  • Keep ceramic pot heated at table with Sterno. ( Watch heat level so cheese does not burn).
  • Using fondue forks, spear bread and dip into cheese mixture.
